Swimmin' Time?

So Mike, Harley and I went to a friend's house for a BBQ and they have a 9 month old (Charlie) and mentioned they also had a kiddy pool. Well, I didn't want to put Harley into a regular pool just yet because of the chlorine so we thought it would be really fun.

So we strapped on his little swim outfit that I got him. It says 10-18lbs so I thought that it might fit a little better. The shorts fit him around the waist, but were really long. He looked like a little gangsta. I was waiting for him to throw some gang signs and say "Eaast Cooast!" Ha!
HHHH-Unnitt!

What we weren't expecting was the water to be as cold as it was with as hot as it is outside. Even some of the adults had a hard time soaking their feet. Harley didn't know what hit him.. he just knew he DID NOT appreciate it. At. All.

Just his feet. Just a meltdown.
What is funny, is that we put him in right before this, but Mike didn't have the camera ready.. so little man got dunked twice. He didn't like it the first time, didn't like it the second time either.

Charlie was having a great time! Love the hat.
I also think it is crazy to think that Harley will be big like Charlie sooner than we will know it. Hopefully we will have another chance this summer to get in the water, so I can use the swim suit again. Hopefully, he won't have a meltdown. We shall see...

Harley Meets the Smiths

So Mike's parents came into town to see their first grandson. Mostly, they hung out with Harley but they did get to see some caverns and Mike and his dad got to go down to DC. Harley got lots of lovin' and attention like only grandparents can give. :)

Mike and I got a lot of extra sleep and Chelsa watched Harley Saturday night so we could go hang out, adult style. It was great fun but the next day we were tired! Go figure. Plus, Harley got to go out to a few restaurants which mostly he slept through. Plus he got to go to the mall! He was tuckered that day.

On a personal note, I finally got the crazy blood vessel removed from my hairline. For those that don't know, it was crazy gross and caused by pregnancy. I will probably have a little scar but I can rub that in during the teen years. I'm very happy to see it gone (I think Mike is too!) If anyone wants to know that story, let me know. I won't bore anyone with details on here though.

Here are some pics from the Smith's visit. Hopefully, they can come visit again soon!

Holding his head up so well!

Relaxin to the max.

Hangin with Grandma. Grandpa is a hover-er. :)

2 Week Doctors Appointment

So today we went to Harley's 2 week drs appointment. It went really well. Harley was only fussy when the dr was messing with anything on his face (I would be upset too). But we didn't have to do shots this visit (I didn't know if I could handle it).

His new stats are:
9lbs 15.5 oz (that's right, just under 10 lbs)
21 3/4 inches long (technically, he's shrunk a little since birth, we are blaming his conehead)
38 cm around his head (90th percentile on that one)

Other than that, we are just trying to figure out sleep. My parents have left and Mike's family is coming on Tuesday to see Harley, so that is really exciting. I'm also excited to get the 'work-out clearance' from my doctor, hopefully this week.

I didn't take any pics from the drs appt, but here are some randoms that we have taken.

Bathing with Babes...

So today was a busy day for Harley. After about 3pm, I fed him, and then power down. Not just with him (which we totally don't mind) but for the whole neighborhood that we live in. So it was a SUPER hot day in NoVA, which means as soon as that power went out, it was immediately 90 degrees in our apartment. This does NOT fair well for a 1 week old.

So we packed everyone up and went to the place that babies love to eat: Chili's. (Baby back ribs, right?)

He slept the whole time and my mom, Mike and I drank our weight in water and other iced beverages (notice I didn't say adult beverages :) ).... When we got home to see if the power was back on, it was feeding time again. The power was back but it was still warm, but we stayed... I was forced to go to a restaurant, which I've been fearing. Not because of screaming baby, but I don't know who you are or where your hands have been... I digress...

So then after that, Harley was still a little sweaty from his restaurant date. So we gave him his first bath. Real bath style. His cord fell off a few days ago (for the most part) and he HATED it. Towards the end of it, he realized it wasn't so bad, I think he will eventually learn to love it.

It was a fun experience and Mike and I bathed him and my mom was the papparazzi.

Feeling a little better about the situation.

Post bath. Fairly happy.

So we have had a few more people swing by the house. It's always great to see people, especially when your newborn is NOT being fussy and super cute. Show off.

So here are some pics from some recent visitors. :) Plus maybe a few extra from our super cute show off baby.

Can you see him? He's in the camou.
