Bath time, video style.

Ok, because Harley has such a great time in the bath, I thought that I would take some video of it. He usually smiles the whole time, but of course he was a little camera shy, until the end..

I think this next one is just plain funny. He is starting to see a lot better and he can now some what follow me around the room with his eyes. So this one he is enamored with himself in the swing. He didn't move; he just stared. He actually reminded me of Bo.

Some More Firsts..

So we all actually had some 'firsts' this week.

On Tuesday, we all experienced our first earthquake. Yes, Mike and I felt it (along with the whole east coast) and yes, Harley slept right through it. As any proud parent would do, I put it on the baby calendar. :)

On Wednesday, Harley had his first MAJOR blowout. Up the back, to the shoulders style. We survived that too.

On Saturday, of course there was Hurricane Irene. It really started to hit us Saturday night. I bought a good amount of water, food and formula. And yes, I stocked up on the beer, too. One can never be too safe. We got a LOT of rain and some wind, but nothing too crazy. I was more concerned about the huge tree by our apartment, but the wind ended up blowing it away from the apartment. Of course, I will put this on the baby calendar. We all survived that, including the big tree by the apartment. (Normally, I love this tree because it keeps the apartment cool, so we are happy)

I go back to work next week and Harley has his 2nd month appointment (with shots! Agh!) Hopefully, it will be a lot less eventful. I'm fairly skeptical.

Bo bein' Bo.

Yes, my cat fetches. Here is some proof.

Video??

Ok, so hopefully this works.. I've been toying with it all morning.. Here's Harley, holding his head up..

P.S. That grunt at the end was the beginning of a diaper change. :)

Of course I would...

I'm a hairdresser, so of course I would post a hair picture. :) I found the baby brush and took advantage. His hair grows forward, so naturally I brushed it back. Poor kid, I giggled at him for like 5 min. Plus true to form, he didn't really care to have his hair messed with. I guess he wanted to style it himself.

Bath Time.. part 2

Harley is older and more mature with his bathtime these days. He really enjoys it and hates it when I pull him out. I hadn't posted in a while, so I figured I would toss in some cute pics.
Clearly older and wiser.

I was trying to get a photo of his hair. It grows one way, I went the other. :)
Happy bath time.
And yes, I do use that scrub brush on him. He's a boy and gets really dirty. :)

Just kiddin.

Harley's 1-month Doctor Visit

Well, it was actually last week, but this is a part-time blog, so you were forewarned.

I called the doctor last week because Harley had been showing some of the symptoms of acid reflux. Arching his back during and after a meal, spitting up a lot way after feeding, and crying while he was eating among others. It was a new thing and the stretching and spitting up I could handle.. the fussing and crying while he was supposed to be enjoying life (aka eating) was really getting to me. The nurse on the phone said it was better if we could get in and see the doctor.

So the next day we went. Side note, I took him by myself which was good but a little nerve wracking. Harley's 1 month weight was 12lbs 2oz. Beef cake!! The doctor said that he was having a lot of the symptoms of relux and we got some meds to see if that made him feel better.

So we have been taking some Zantax (I tried it today, it is gross, no wonder he makes faces) and he still arches and spits up, but the crying during feedings has been almost eliminated. Also, he doesn't spit up hours after he has eaten. :) So hopefully this fixes the situation, babies do grow out of it, so it is also a waiting game.

I'm just glad that he is feeling better!
