Christmas Photo Shoot..

Sooo I'm not quite ready to have my own picture taken, but I'm more than willing to strip down my baby in the wintertime and strap a Santa hat to his noggin. Mike watched the debauchery and just shook his head. In 70 some odd pics, there were only a few that were usable for Christmas cards and other cute pics... but I will show the funny ones..

"I got my eye on you, Mom"

Standard nekkid baby photo. I just love his expression.

Getting ready to walk out of the shoot. :)

Over it.

4 month visit!

Harley went to the dr and got his 4 month checkup. Here are his fighting stats:

Weight- 17lbs (holy crap)
Height- 26 in
Head size- 18 in (really?? only 8 inches less than his whole body!?)

He did really well. He did NOT care for the paper stuff on the table and when they gave him his shots, that's what he didn't like the most. It was too crink-ly apparently. The immunizations made him sick over the weekend and extra poopy (yay), but now he is feeling better and sleeping better. :)

Now he is eating solids regularly. His favorites are bananas (duh) and sweet potatoes. He didn't seem to mind pears too much either. :)

Harley Rolls Over!

So the kid WOULD NOT roll over for me. Everyone else.. but me. Clearly, he has it out for me. Starting young with the stubbornness for sure. But finally a couple of days ago, he rolled from his tummy to his back while I was around! (yay!) Then today, I finally got to see him roll from back to front! (When I say he did it for everyone else but me... he's been doing it for about a week) I'm didn't count it until today!

Plus he has started to giggle.. I haven't caught this on video yet because it has been few and far between for me. Pretty cute when he does it though.

So here is a video of him rolling over.. I think it is toward the end..

First Wedding Anniversary!!

So Mike and I's first wedding anniversary was officially two days ago.. but this is a part-time blog, so I never promised to be on time. :) We aren't together on our first anniversary. We knew this would happen when we decided to move to Boise like we did (Harley and I first, then Mike in November). Mike had a dozen roses sent to the house and he wanted to do more, but we are trying to save a little moola with the move.

So in light of our absentee anniversary, we are planning on celebrating by spending an evening in McCall, Idaho.. which is beautiful! I'm just excited to see him again!

Bumbo!!

So this little seat seemed so handy when some of my friends had their kiddos stuffed in, that I thought that it would be great to get Harley to practice sitting up. I still love the idea of it and we will keep trying at it.. but as the pictures show...
He starts off pretty good...

Then he notices his toes and since they are 'new,' he wants to play...
Then he gets pissed because he has a hard time sitting back up...

Just Some Extra Pics

So these pictures are really cute (if I do say so myself). And I KNOW the masses watch our every move, so since this is part time, I gotta keep the people happy. So I will make up a story about what we were doing.

Clearly, Harley is super excited about our upcoming move! So much so, that he found his hands and smiled at me. Obviously, that is code for 'awesome!' The last picture is where I was telling him that we have to pack everything and fly AGAIN!! :)

Harley's First Plane trip

Harley had his first plane trip to Boise in September. He did really well and only fussed a couple of times. I wish I had a couple shots of whiskey at the time, but it all went really well. I even had a few people tell me how good of a traveler he was. I just had him in the carrier (see pics below) and he slept most of the time. I have a strong feeling that will change the bigger he gets, so we took advantage. :)

His super huge car seat. I had to put phone books under it. :)
Small meltdown. I quit moving.
Harley and I in the Boise airport. Bad pic I know.

Harley's 2-month Doctor Visit

So Harley had his 2 month visit on September 2nd. Here are his stat's.

Height: 23 3/4 in
Weight: 14.3 lbs
Head circumference: 42cm (off the charts!)

So the visit went really well. Harley got his reflux meds fixed for his weight, and the doctor gave us the clear to give him thicker formula. He told us Harley is the size of a 4 month old, but that his stats are right on track, he is just in the 90th percentile.

He got his 2 month shots. I thought that it was going to be terrible and that I would be crying more than Harley. Well he took the first shot like a champ. He didn't really care for it, but didn't cry. Well, the second one, we weren't so lucky. He did cry but it was for about 3 minutes. I guess that really shows a 2 month old's attention span.

PS. He does now fit into 6 month clothes. Crazy!

Bo wanted to get in on it too...

Nap time with cranky Harley...

So I usually don't put Harley in the bed with us anytime he is sleeping, but this particular day, he was especially fussy. So we swaddled him up and I laid down with him until he really nodded off (we hadn't figured out that he likes the 'drunk walk' yet). Well we both nodded off and Mike tried to get pics of us. Well, I forgot to put the automatic focus back on the camera, so they are a little fuzzy. I still love them and loved sleeping so close to Harley, even for a short time.

Dana and Parker Visit!

Dana and Parker came over to see the baby. These were taken a while ago. I think he was closer to 6 weeks. Parker looks a little scared of him. She was more interested in the cat after about 10 min of hanging out with Harley. I think it was because Bo gave her more feedback, even if it was "Get away from me!" I think it is really funny to see kids with babies.

"yeah I get it mom!"

Scaring Bo with the whale.

Harley giving Dana attitude.

Bath time, video style.

Ok, because Harley has such a great time in the bath, I thought that I would take some video of it. He usually smiles the whole time, but of course he was a little camera shy, until the end..

I think this next one is just plain funny. He is starting to see a lot better and he can now some what follow me around the room with his eyes. So this one he is enamored with himself in the swing. He didn't move; he just stared. He actually reminded me of Bo.

Some More Firsts..

So we all actually had some 'firsts' this week.

On Tuesday, we all experienced our first earthquake. Yes, Mike and I felt it (along with the whole east coast) and yes, Harley slept right through it. As any proud parent would do, I put it on the baby calendar. :)

On Wednesday, Harley had his first MAJOR blowout. Up the back, to the shoulders style. We survived that too.

On Saturday, of course there was Hurricane Irene. It really started to hit us Saturday night. I bought a good amount of water, food and formula. And yes, I stocked up on the beer, too. One can never be too safe. We got a LOT of rain and some wind, but nothing too crazy. I was more concerned about the huge tree by our apartment, but the wind ended up blowing it away from the apartment. Of course, I will put this on the baby calendar. We all survived that, including the big tree by the apartment. (Normally, I love this tree because it keeps the apartment cool, so we are happy)

I go back to work next week and Harley has his 2nd month appointment (with shots! Agh!) Hopefully, it will be a lot less eventful. I'm fairly skeptical.

Bo bein' Bo.

Yes, my cat fetches. Here is some proof.

Video??

Ok, so hopefully this works.. I've been toying with it all morning.. Here's Harley, holding his head up..

P.S. That grunt at the end was the beginning of a diaper change. :)

Of course I would...

I'm a hairdresser, so of course I would post a hair picture. :) I found the baby brush and took advantage. His hair grows forward, so naturally I brushed it back. Poor kid, I giggled at him for like 5 min. Plus true to form, he didn't really care to have his hair messed with. I guess he wanted to style it himself.

Bath Time.. part 2

Harley is older and more mature with his bathtime these days. He really enjoys it and hates it when I pull him out. I hadn't posted in a while, so I figured I would toss in some cute pics.
Clearly older and wiser.

I was trying to get a photo of his hair. It grows one way, I went the other. :)
Happy bath time.
And yes, I do use that scrub brush on him. He's a boy and gets really dirty. :)

Just kiddin.

Harley's 1-month Doctor Visit

Well, it was actually last week, but this is a part-time blog, so you were forewarned.

I called the doctor last week because Harley had been showing some of the symptoms of acid reflux. Arching his back during and after a meal, spitting up a lot way after feeding, and crying while he was eating among others. It was a new thing and the stretching and spitting up I could handle.. the fussing and crying while he was supposed to be enjoying life (aka eating) was really getting to me. The nurse on the phone said it was better if we could get in and see the doctor.

So the next day we went. Side note, I took him by myself which was good but a little nerve wracking. Harley's 1 month weight was 12lbs 2oz. Beef cake!! The doctor said that he was having a lot of the symptoms of relux and we got some meds to see if that made him feel better.

So we have been taking some Zantax (I tried it today, it is gross, no wonder he makes faces) and he still arches and spits up, but the crying during feedings has been almost eliminated. Also, he doesn't spit up hours after he has eaten. :) So hopefully this fixes the situation, babies do grow out of it, so it is also a waiting game.

I'm just glad that he is feeling better!

Swimmin' Time?

So Mike, Harley and I went to a friend's house for a BBQ and they have a 9 month old (Charlie) and mentioned they also had a kiddy pool. Well, I didn't want to put Harley into a regular pool just yet because of the chlorine so we thought it would be really fun.

So we strapped on his little swim outfit that I got him. It says 10-18lbs so I thought that it might fit a little better. The shorts fit him around the waist, but were really long. He looked like a little gangsta. I was waiting for him to throw some gang signs and say "Eaast Cooast!" Ha!
HHHH-Unnitt!

What we weren't expecting was the water to be as cold as it was with as hot as it is outside. Even some of the adults had a hard time soaking their feet. Harley didn't know what hit him.. he just knew he DID NOT appreciate it. At. All.

Just his feet. Just a meltdown.
What is funny, is that we put him in right before this, but Mike didn't have the camera ready.. so little man got dunked twice. He didn't like it the first time, didn't like it the second time either.

Charlie was having a great time! Love the hat.
I also think it is crazy to think that Harley will be big like Charlie sooner than we will know it. Hopefully we will have another chance this summer to get in the water, so I can use the swim suit again. Hopefully, he won't have a meltdown. We shall see...

Harley Meets the Smiths

So Mike's parents came into town to see their first grandson. Mostly, they hung out with Harley but they did get to see some caverns and Mike and his dad got to go down to DC. Harley got lots of lovin' and attention like only grandparents can give. :)

Mike and I got a lot of extra sleep and Chelsa watched Harley Saturday night so we could go hang out, adult style. It was great fun but the next day we were tired! Go figure. Plus, Harley got to go out to a few restaurants which mostly he slept through. Plus he got to go to the mall! He was tuckered that day.

On a personal note, I finally got the crazy blood vessel removed from my hairline. For those that don't know, it was crazy gross and caused by pregnancy. I will probably have a little scar but I can rub that in during the teen years. I'm very happy to see it gone (I think Mike is too!) If anyone wants to know that story, let me know. I won't bore anyone with details on here though.

Here are some pics from the Smith's visit. Hopefully, they can come visit again soon!

Holding his head up so well!

Relaxin to the max.

Hangin with Grandma. Grandpa is a hover-er. :)

Bo needed some love too!
